To some it may seem frivolous, giving your laundry room a mini make over. However, I realized that I was spending loads (get it? hilarious..cracking myself up) of time in the laundry room. Let's face it, nothing is more boring than a small beige wall with beige floor, doing a super boring task like laundry.
With four kids, my husband, Paulie-our pit-mix dog, Annie Oakley-our other mix of some kind, and myself, there are mountains of laundry weekly. I love the idea of an accent wall. Especially when the wall is directly opposite the entryway. When the accent wall is the first thing you notice, visually you get a lot of bang for your buck.
I chose this pretty natural wood framed mirror from @Target. The mirror makes the space feel lighter and brighter. The wood frame adds some warmth.
The amazing little boho runner @homegoods is such a fun and comfy addition!
I found a wallpaper that was inspired by shops like West Elm and Anthropologie. I know that new flooring or ceiling was out of reach financially.
My husband had removed the baseboards after a small washing machine flood. I removed the drying rack that was installed by the previous owner. It was broken and didn't allow me to open the washer lid all the way.
Why did I even live with it that way as long as I did?!
I filled in holes, patched them with filler, and painted the whole room Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore.
Walking into our laundry is a treat not a drag anymore! Whew....
What have you redone lately that was a small change with big impact?
